2: Trade Data Theme: "Developing Transparency, Efficiency, and Trust in Trade" Subscription: $350 Prerequisites: Module 1 Instructor: Sal Yazbeck, Ph.D. ![]() It is commonly known that the supply chain industry has historically relied on manual processes to move goods from one location to another. Issues as shipping documents, payment terms, and documents showing agricultural food import compliance have relied on producing paper or digital file documents to get the goods across borders. This process, however, is currently in process of transforming. This module focuses on trade digitalization via blockchain technology. It covers two primary verticals transforming within the trade finance ecosystem: first, digitalization of transactions; and then digitalization of services. The conversation initially starts by highlighting how Modules 1 and 2 are interconnected, as they relate to our visual Module Series - Data Flow Roadmap. It then moves to discuss the digitalization of transactions side in International trade by simplifying the topic of blockchain, and introduces its transformational potential in trade finance: FinTech, and TradeTech. On the digitalization of services side, the conversation focuses on automation of trade process with discussion of the related trade support ecosystem (ie, port terminals, banks, etc).
